Project Spotlight

Hwy 285 and Hwy 9 Bridge Deck

Scope of Work

This bridge deck replaced an outdated bridge on Hwy 285 in Fairplay, Colorado, a key route connecting Denver to Southwest Colorado. Bridge decks in this region endure frequent freeze-thaw cycles and chemical exposure, especially during winter. Fiber reinforcement helps extend the concrete’s lifespan by improving durability and reducing permeability. FiberForce 650 was added according to CDOT specifications for the Class G concrete mix at a rate of 4 lbs/yd³.
