For the 5 inch slab, the initial design called for number 4’s @ 24”. Martin Marietta Materials reached out to the FiberForce engineers to develop a macrofiber alternative. A submittal package for an alternative to the rebar that included a 4 lb dosage rate of FiberForce 750 was approved. The owner of Elk Ridge Builders and the concrete finishers were very impressed with the finishability of the macrofiber. Another unique aspect of this project is the use of ICF blocks for the walls of the office building.
